The One Hoodie I Can’t Stop Wearing: My Spider Hoodie Story

Okay, so this isn’t some “professional” review or whatever—just me talking about a hoodie I randomly bought and now wear all the time. It’s the Spider Hoodie, and yeah, I didn’t expect it to be a big deal either. But here we are. Months later. I live in this thing.

How It Started (It Was a Random Buy)

I was in Portland last fall, staying with a friend, and I totally underestimated how cold it gets there at night. Like, it was sunny and 70s during the day, then bam—40 degrees by 8 PM. Classic me, I packed nothing warm. So we stopped at this little shop, and I grabbed a Spider Hoodie because it looked cool and seemed cozy.

That was honestly the beginning of my obsession.

It Just… Fits Right?

I know that sounds dumb, but seriously. Have you ever tried something on and immediately thought, “Ohhh, this is gonna be in the weekly rotation”? That’s how the Spider Hoodie felt. Like, it’s got that soft lining inside, but it’s not fuzzy enough to make you overheat. And it’s not bulky either.

Plus, the arms actually fit me. I’m 5’11”, kinda lanky, and so many hoodies are either too short or way too long in the sleeves. Not this one. The Spider Hoodie hit the sweet spot. I wore it the whole weekend.

Then I didn’t take it off the week after either. Even flew back home to Chicago in it. Planes are always freezing, and this thing kept me warm the whole flight.

The Look? Yeah, It’s Cool

Not gonna lie, I got a few compliments. Which, again, is unexpected for a hoodie. I’ve had folks ask me where I got it, even a barista in Austin was like, “That’s a dope hoodie.” It’s got kind of a sleek look, but still chill.

It’s not flashy, no giant logos or anything, just that spider logo. But it works. I have one in black and one in like, this dark green color that somehow matches everything I own.

Spider Hoodies, in general, seem to walk that line between casual and cool. Like you could wear one to a movie or on a low-key date and not look like a slob.

Worn It Pretty Much Everywhere Now

So I’ve worn this thing in:

  • Rainy Seattle, while walking through Pike Place
  • Cold morning runs to get bagels in New York City
  • Bonfires in Nashville
  • Random late-night drives around Los Angeles

Every single time, it just worked. Never too hot, never too cold. It layers well with a jean jacket, too. That’s a look, by the way.

One time, I left it in a friend’s car in Denver, and I was irrationally mad. I literally texted them like, “Yo, I need that back ASAP.” That hoodie is part of my personality now.

Washing It = Still Good

Here’s something I didn’t expect: it holds up in the wash. I’ve washed both of my Spider Hoodies like… at least 10 times. No shrinking. No weird fade. The inner lining is still soft. The zipper is still solid.

I had another hoodie (not naming names) that just fell apart after like 3 washes. Not this one.

Now I Own Three

So yeah. First, it was black. Then green. Then a gray one because I realized two wasn’t enough. Now I kinda rotate them depending on the mood or the outfit. I’m low-key thinking about grabbing a red one too, just to spice things up.

Every single one is solid. My cousin tried mine on last month while we were in Phoenix, and she straight-up ordered her own right after. They’re unisex, which is cool.

Final Thoughts (This Isn’t Sponsored, I Swear)

This is probably the only piece of clothing I’ve ever bought where I immediately knew I was gonna wear it nonstop. The spider sweatpants are just… reliable. Cozy. Kinda stylish. Not trying too hard, but it still looks intentional. And it works in every city I’ve been to.

So yeah. If you’re thinking about getting one, do it. If you’re thinking about getting two Spider Hoodies, also do it. You won’t regret it. Just don’t be surprised when your roommate tries to steal it. You probably won’t get it back.
